The Hashiba Institute was born out of a growing concern about our current health care system.  As medical costs continue to increase and access to quality care decreases, we are faced with the unrelenting challenges of staying “healthy” within a health care system that is profit-driven and disease-focused.

For many years, researchers, the media, nonprofit organizations and politicians have identified the shortcomings of our health care system by focusing on the lack of resources and growing number of sick Americans. Rather than continuing on this path by advocating to insurance companies and political lawmakers for changes in the system, the Hashiba Institute has been established to find solutions through collaboration between individuals and the community. Our focus is to support a movement toward self-sustainable health – away from a dependency on the current “disease-focused” health care system and toward a model based on every individual’s ability to define and attain health.

By creating an opportunity for positive, long-term changes on a personal level, we believe every individual who chooses to define and actualize their own health, will do just that.  As each of us becomes healthier - our families, our colleagues, our communities, and the world too will become healthier.  The Hashiba Institute was founded with the motivation and passion to support the movement toward self-sustainable health.
